Unofficial Election Results
Be advised that the results are unofficial until such times as all matters are resolved as per our Act 1994. Only after all matters are resolved will our office post the OFFICIAL RESULTS in each and every PBCN Community as well as every department in all communities.

As the Head Electoral Officer I have been seeking legal advice with respect to certain provisions or lack thereof within our 1994 Act. The results of Thursday, April 14th stand and we have forwarded said results to all departments, communities and Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). All candidates will receive copies as well. Election 2011 Dates and Information

A General Election will be held for one (1) Chief and fourteen (14) Council Members of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation on Thursday, April 14th, 2011 from 9am until 8pm.

The Nomination Meeting date for all Candidates is scheduled for 7pm on Thursday, March 31 at each respective PBCN Community as follows:

1. Pelican Narrows - Opawikoscikan Gymnasium
2. Southend - High School
3. Sandy Bay - Village Hall
4. Deschambault Lake - Kimoosom Pwatinahk Gymnasium
5. Amisk Lake (Denare Beach) - DenarePlex
6. Sturgeon Landing - School
7. Prince Albert - PAGC Main Boardroom

Advanced Polls
Advanced Polls will open on Thursday, April 7th from 9am until 8pm at each location except for Pelican Narrows which have their Advance Polls at the LAC Village Hall. Kinoosao will also have theirs at the local Hall and in Saskatoon it will be held at the Indian & Metis Friendship Centre at 168 Wall Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Election Day Polls
Election Day Polls will be open from 9am until 8pm on Thursday, April 14th at all locations. Pelican Narrows will utilize the High School Gym for this day. Kinoosao and Saskatoon will only have advance day polls.

All pertinent information regarding locations and times is posted as per Section 7. (5) of the Band Custom Election Act and Procedures 1994. For copies of the Act 1994, http://www.peterballantyne.ca/administration/policies.html plus copies have been distributed to each community prior to the nomination.

BRIEFING NOTES On September 10 and 11,2009 the community of Pelican Narrows had their Pandemic Strategy Planning Meeting, in which all agencies, local committees, Chief and Local council were invited to attend.

The meeting was a requiring step to plan and prepare for another influenza outbreak. On September 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. located at the Wapanacak School each agency, Committee, RCMP, Chief and Local Council had done the tabletop exercise, which was preps for different scenarios of a pandemic outbreak. September 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. the community workshop was held at the Wapanacak School Gym and lunch was provided to the community members who attended.
